Since the iPhone still has the “dreaded” lightning port we have to jump through some hoops to get the screen onto the external monitor.
The cable that came with the monitor connects to a special adaptor from Amazon here:

This adaptor is HDMI In to USBC Out.
You have to ensure that it isn’t the other way around
It then connects to the Apple lightning to HDMI adaptor. I spent money a long time ago on a cheap copy that didn’t work, i suggest using genuine
This then connects to the iPhone
BUT… then you have to put power on the special adaptor, i used an external power block
It looks messy but if you were connecting to your PC or laptop HDMI you wouldn’t need the power block as you could connect direct for the power
Overall this was a bit of an experiment for me as the doing this with the iPhone is kind of pointless compared to connecting a USB Samsung S10 (much easier and a video is coming soon)
Though it is good to know that this adaptor allows this to work with say a PC with HDMI output where you can use the Lenovo as a true second monitor (also another video coming soon)
