New Year's resolutions being what they are, the advent of a new year and a new decade marks a doubly appropriate occasion in which to step down from the fray; and in deference to anno domini in your correspondent's case; production demands in that of his spouse (60-odd books last year alone); and our beloved PBS's decision to move gracefully on itself, we have resolved henceforth to review for fun alone, and that sporadically, rather than once a week.
As a result, ongoing salvos will be driven by enthusiasm, rather than deadlines, and will only appear if/as/when news and reviews warrant sharing.
Until then, by way of a parting shot, please enjoy Google's own view of our efforts (in which we have had no hand): a pastiche of videos past and present, somehow patched together - bloopers and all - by their all-seeing, and distinctly spooky, "algorithms".
In the meantime, on behalf of the Hoare house in general, and your correspondent in particular, a singularly happy new year and decade to come. It's been a delight to have you aboard, and we look forward to resuming our efforts when the occasion demands.
