This in-depth session is aimed at social workers, carers and other professionals who work with adults with disabilities.
Jointly delivered by Dorset Council, Bradford Council and 39 Essex Chambers, it will focus around 3 key discussions:
1. A co-produced session on how to support people to take control of their own decisions and understand their human rights.
2. Applying the Human Rights Act and the Mental Capacity Act legal frameworks to practice.
3. Unpicking the social work value base behind the Mental Capacity Act and looking how social work values will be vital during the future implementation of the Liberty Protection Safeguards.
