So 2005 C6 Vetts have a HUGE flaw and it happened to us! 2005 models used diff housing design that is weak in the back section. C5 diffs have a mount on the rear of the housings and the 2005 C6 diffs have them on the side. Eliminating the rear mount, the material in the back of the diff is really thin and ends up exploding under excessive beating causing the ring and pinion to exit the stage! 2006 and up models use a different housing which also requires an updated transmission adapter plate run up in a range of $3500 and up! We did our research and we found a C5 Z06 diff which bolts right up with a custom rear mount that bolts onto the C6 subframe!
