"Girl You Know It's True" is a song made famous by the German-French pop duo Milli Vanilli. Originally recorded by the Baltimore-based group Numarx in 1987, the song was later reworked and released by Milli Vanilli in 1988 as the lead single from their debut album of the same name. The track quickly became a major hit, reaching the top of the charts in several countries, including the United States, where it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. With its catchy beat, infectious chorus, and danceable rhythm, the song helped propel Milli Vanilli to international stardom. However, the duo—Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus—became embroiled in one of the biggest scandals in music history when it was revealed that they had not actually sung on their recordings. This revelation led to the revocation of their Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1990 and significantly tarnished their careers. Despite the controversy, "Girl You Know It's True" remains a memorable pop hit of the late 1980s, often associated with the era's dance-pop sound and the lip-syncing scandal that followed.
