This was a tricky project. I used 2" firm foam for the interior which I ended up cutting back 1 1/2"/4cm from the outside edge of the pattern and the super-soft foam back 1"/2.5cm, so it would curve slightly over the top of the main foam.
I have been in the upholstery and interior decorating business for 30 years, as well as teaching these subjects both privately and in colleges. I have drawn on my years of teaching to put this video together and hope to have answered all your questions.
