This Saturday looked to have good weather, so I decided to head over to Whippany to see the Morristown & Erie Polar Express. The train was powered by GP15-1 24 and MP15DC 2354, which has recently been returned to service and is now sporting full Morristown & Erie lettering and decals. Also of note within the consist is the Birken, which has been partially repainted on one side to match the rest of the M&E passenger fleet. I was able to see the 11:30 and 1:30 trains at several spots along the line. Please enjoy, and excuse the few moments the footage becomes blurry. I'm still not sure why it happened.
00 The 11:30 train crosses Troy Hills Road/County Route 637 with GP15-1 24 leading the way and MP15DC 2354 trailing.
50 McKinley Avenue. After coming to a stop and waiting for a few minutes, the train begins heading west.
16 Algonquin Parkway.
57 South Jefferson Road.
59 The train passes South Jefferson Road once again as it heads back east to Whippany.
26 Parsippany Road/County Route 511.
22 The 1:30 train crosses Algonquin Parkway.
45 Deforest Avenue.
28 Ridgedale Avenue/County Route 632.
16 Route 10.
05 Eden Lane. The bell on the nearest mast signal rings very quietly at first before dying completely by the time the train has passed.
