Dr. Augustina Naami, Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Ghana, delivered a powerful Hokenstad International Lecture at #CSWE25 on Saturday, October 25.
Dr. Naami's presentation was a collective call to action for social work educators to center disability justice and joy at the heart of teaching, practice, research, and advocacy. Drawing from her own scholarship and pedagogy, Dr. Naami illustrated how disability justice in social work education can be reimagined and applied in transformative ways—transcending classroom walls to fuel a broader movement for social change.
The Hokenstad International Lecture, sponsored by Case Western University, was launched in 2007 through an endowment from M.C. “Terry” Hokenstad, a former president and long-time member of CSWE.
