MAMANIKKUNNU SREE MAHADEVI TEMPLE
This Temple is situated on the eastern bank of Irikkur River. This part of the country was formerly occupied by Namboodiri Bramhins. They were living there as a ‘gramam’ exclusively.
The Mamanikkunnu Mahadevi Temple is dedicated to Shakti and is located in Irikkur, around 28kms from Taliparamba (towards Irritty), Kannur District, Kerala, India. This Temple is situated on the eastern bank of Irikkur River.

The major offering to the temple are Coconut breaking and it was told that the temple is good for those who are not getting married for long can go and pray in this temple and get benefitted (as said by many). There are other vazhipadu (offerings) like Sathrusamharam, Mrithunjaya Homam, Santhan sooktham etc. etc.

After visiting this temple, many go to nearby Kannamkode Vishnu Temple. Jeep service is available from Mamanikunnu to Kannamkode and the charges are Rs.40 per head for a trip. The Kannamkode Vishnu temple opens only up to 12 noon daily. Coconut breaking is the main offering in this temple also. People those who have their own vehicle can use same if they don't want to pay for the Jeep service, but the roads are very narrow and not in good condition.

At 12:30 noon annandanam (food) will be serviced to all people at the Devi temple. There are different pooja timings especially on Tuesdays and Fridays, the temple closes at 10:45am and again opens at 12:15Pm. Temple normally opens at 5:45 am daily and closes at 7:30pm.

Though the Temple is open for all (family and friends) but we can see more women devotees are visiting the temple.
