Appliqué: Techniques & Mod Applications-Satin Stitch, Raw Edge & Reverse Appliqué | STITCH LAB Ep.5

Stitch Lab, episode 5, explores all things appliqué! Appliqué is a traditional technique but there are many fun applications for modern sewists! We’ll cover appliqué basics, from needle turn to decorative stitch options on a conventional sewing machine to machine embroidery designs that incorporate appliqué. We’ll share our favorite tools and materials (looking at you, fusible web!), then we’ll walk you through a few quick experiments, including satin stitched mountains, a quick tote with raw-edge hearts and unique raw edge techniques with vintage lace scraps. There’s so much you can do with this inspiring technique!
