With the recent news coming out of Ukraine that the world's largest aircraft, the Antonov AN-225 'Mriya' has been destroyed, I decided to post a video to pay my tributes to both the aircraft and the people of Ukraine
I was fortunate enough to see the AN-225 twice within my lifetime, once in 2018, and then again in 2021 - Both at RAF Brize Norton. The aircraft was so unique and an absolute beauty in terms of machinery, she really was a state of the art piece of equipment and it is really tragic to hear of its destruction thanks to this unneccesary conflict in Ukraine.
Obviously at the end of the day this is just an aircraft, and like all aircraft, they can be replaced and rebuilt, unlike the lives of human beings which are also being taken away during this conflict. So my thoughts and prayers go out to all those being affected by this. I wish for all this to end soon #Istandwithukraine
