Train heading towards Raichur. Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) is a coal fired electric power station located in the Raichur district of the state of Karnataka, India. Enjoy the breathtaking visuals of the Krishna River and the RTPS captured from on board the 11013 Lokmanya Tilak - Coimbatore ~ Kurla Express heading towards Raichur. Raichur Railway Station is located on the Mumbai - Chennai line and is a important industrial district. All most all Trains have a halt here including the Bangalore Rajdhani Express.
RTPS is a Coal Fired Power Plant and is operated by the Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) and was the first thermal power plant to be set up in the state.The power station was commissioned during various periods from 1985 and it accounts for about 40% of the total electricity generated in Karnataka.
