Lonely and desperate, 17-year-old Casey Lewis finds herself on the verge of self-destruction. She cannot come to terms with the loss of her younger brother, and her anger and guilt turn into a rebellion against the whole world. But when she is arrested and sent to a correctional labor camp at the Spirit Riders Ranch, life forces her to make a choice: either remain a prisoner of pain or find a way to peace.

At the ranch, Casey encounters other people who are overcoming their difficulties, but she feels the greatest connection with a horse named Blaze. Once a champion on the racetrack, he can no longer adapt to his new life. In his every wild movement, in every act of disobedience, she sees a reflection of herself. Under the guidance of the ranch owner Rex, a man with a strong character and a wise perspective, Casey gradually discovers that by helping Blaze, she is helping herself.

Every day on the ranch is a challenge for her, both physically and emotionally. She learns not only to work but also to trust, not only to tame but also to understand. Blaze, like her, yearns for freedom, but to gain it, she must let go of the past. In the struggle with her fears, doubts and pain, Casey discovers the power of forgiveness and faith in a new beginning.

Spirit Riders is a story about second chances, about the bond between man and horse, about the rebirth of a spirit that seemed lost forever.
