The song is dedicated to the non-commissioned officer Atanas Iliev Hadzhiyanchev, born in 1913 in Yakoruda. During the struggle of the Bulgarian people against Nazism, he was an associate of the Central Military Commission of the Bulgarian Communist Party. On July 12, 1913, together with the soldier Tsano Valchev, they exported a large amount of weapons to the partisans and attempted to join them. Unfortunately, the fascist government troops managed to get on their trail. The two fought until the last cartridge, after which they embraced and blew themselves up with a bomb.
