Stella's mother, Jessica, says City Gospel Mission's Princesses Ballet program is a "Godsend" for her daughter, who was diagnosed with autism and ADHD at 3 years old.
Stella didn't speak until 4 years old. Jessica was worried about Stella joining Princesses Ballet because she didn't want to see her daughter get hurt. She wondered if Stella would be able to overcome her speech deficit, temper and hyperactivity.
From Day 1, Stella has been embraced by the other girls in the program and staff. And she is flourishing like never before.
Says Jessica, "She started learning and speaking more because of the extraordinary people who kept her going. She's a whole different person. She has grown up a lot."
Says Stella, "I think it's making me strong."
