Normans bay C&C Club Site I Hastings Castle I Hastings Pier

So we arrive at our next destination on our trip to the South East, Normans Bay Camping and Caravanning Club Site, sitting conveniently between Hasting and Eastbourne, in the sunny county of East Sussex.

We have a quick look around the site, check out Normans Bay Beach with Tessie tagging along in spirit only!


The following morning we set off from the campsite to catch the train to Hastings from the handy little station a few minutes along the road. Quite a bargain too at £7.50 each for a return ticket, no point taking the camper and trying to park at these prices.

On arriving at Hastings we have a quick stroll along the pier and Dave gives us some more of his fascinating facts.

We intend taking the West Hill funicular Cliff Railway, however due to breakdown, we have to walk up the cliff to Hastings Castle and worked off our ice cream.

After a quick tour of the castle and dungeons we head back down the cliffs and get some dinner at a pub we spotted in the old town earlier that day.

We have a lovely meal in Ye Olde Pump House in George Street in the Old Town, although not quite as old as it first appears it is a fascinating place all the same.

After a lovely day in Hastings and a full belly, we head back to the station and get the train back to our Campsite.
