Join the planning team at Charnwood Borough Council

Charnwood is a vibrant and exciting borough with a population of 180,000 located between the three cities of Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. The main urban centre is the thriving university town of Loughborough and this is complemented by small towns and villages set within attractive countryside.

The Council is finalising its new local plan; a plan that sets out a challenging agenda for growth involving sustainable urban extensions, an Enterprise Zone (containing the country’s largest science and enterprise park), regeneration areas and a significant level of new housing and employment to meet the needs to 2037.

We are also preparing a community Infrastructure Levy, a raft of supplementary Planning Documents and a Design Code.

It is an exciting time to join and to make a positive contribution to the implementation of growth and the projects we are involved with.

There is also the opportunity to get involved in strategic planning as part of the delivery of the Leicester and Leicestershire Strategic Growth Plan and participate in the wider planning team.
