One of my pet hates! People buy an expensive radio & a decent antenna..........then use cheap feeder cable between the two!
RG-58 has it's place...........patch cables between equipment on your desk, short runs in temporary/portable systems where weight needs to be kept down (such as hiking/SOTA activations) etc.
Having said that, long runs of RG-58 on VHF & higher frequencies is not a good idea. In this video I explain why.
The Amateur Radio UK channel is run by UK radio amateur M0GQC (James). As the channel name would suggest, the channel focuses primarily on amateur radio within the UK!!!
