Goalkeeping Drill: Obstructed View Saves | Football DNA coach Jimmy Walker (UEFA A Licensed)

Working with 4 GK’s or 3 GK’s and a coach serving. Place the mannequins in front of the goal about 6 yards out to obstruct the GK’s view. Work on handling and movement around the goal whilst with 2 GK’s in the goal to start so there is more ball contact time, then progress to 1 GK working at a time with the other 2-3 serving. Vary the type and positions of the serve for the GK’s to practice a range of techniques with good quality repetition. Gradually move the ‘serves’ and mannequins further away from the goal to practice longer range saves still with an obstructed ‘strike’ replicating a crowded goalmouth.
