The last of the three Shadows tracks I recorded in my backyard in addition to the six from "The Sound of the Shadows" album, "Wonderful Land" was an A-side of their February 1962 single and is of course one of their biggest hits (number one on the UK charts for eight weeks in a row) and most beloved tracks, composed by Jerry Lordan who also wrote "Apache," "Atlantis," "Diamonds," and many others. A truly soaring and noble melody, meant to evoke the spirit of America and the New World more generally.
