Thriller! Arsenal U21 3-4 Exeter City | Late Drama in EFL Trophy Clash (28/10/25)

Arsenal’s young Gunners put in a spirited performance but narrowly lost 4–3 to League One side Exeter City in a thrilling Vertu Motors Trophy clash. The visitors took the lead three times through Charles Sagoe Jr, Harrison Dudziak, and Osman Kamara, showing impressive attacking flair and resilience. Sagoe Jr opened the scoring with a superb solo strike after combining well with Ceadach O’Neill, while Dudziak restored the lead with a stunning long-range finish and Kamara added a composed third. Despite their efforts, the home side continually found a way back into the match.

Exeter’s experience eventually told as they equalised three times through Josh Magennis, Jack Aitchison, and Magennis again, before substitute Jayden Wareham completed the comeback late on with a decisive header. Arsenal’s youngsters created several chances, including efforts from Demiane Agustien and Kamara that came agonisingly close, but couldn’t hold off Exeter’s pressure. It was a valiant display full of promise, but the Grecians’ late goal sealed a hard-fought victory.
