Mansfield was established in 1718 on the Black River in Georgetown, SC. It is named after the husband of Susannah LaRoche Man, who was a widow when she had the house built in 1756. The 1,000-acre property retains the home, antebellum slave cabins, a slave chapel, a winnowing house and threshing mill. Today, it is a bed and breakfast.
