For the petals, take red clay of any brand. It is better if the clay has a warm shade, like Cernit poppy red. If your clay is darker or colder in color, add a little yellow to it.

Instead of the base, I use the back surface of the cheap silicone mold purchased at Alliexpress. It is very convenient and easy to form petals on a silicone surface. Work carefully, do not push. If your clay is falling apart, then it is too hard. Add some FIMO liquid to it. If the clay sticks to the dots, then it is too soft. Add some baby powder or red pastel to it. You can sprinkle a little Dots baby powder if it is difficult for you to round off the edges of the petal the first time. Cut the finished flower with a knife, carefully place it on a sheet of paper or paper accordion, and bake in the oven.

To create black stamens, you need to finely chop the clay with a knife. To prevent pieces of clay from becoming blind, add a little black pastel to them. You can add a little baby powder to make the pieces even smaller. Extra pieces can be baked and put into a box. This is useful in miniature cooking. If you are too lazy to cut clay, use black sand.

To create the stem, gently roll the clay and bend the tip slightly. Make the stem length a little longer than necessary. You can always trim it later. I like it when the stem bends a little under the weight of the flower, so I do not insert wire into the stem.

Properly baked clay bends well. If your stems are constantly breaking, then most likely you baked them badly. This often happens if you mix Fimo clay with other grades and bake the mixture at a temperature of 100-110 C. The problem is that other grades of clay do not have this temperature. I tried to bake the stems from the clay mixture for about 40 minutes at a temperature of 110 C, but they still did not bake and break. Therefore, when you mix Fimo with other clay, bake at a temperature of 115 C. The properties of Fimo will not deteriorate from this. But Fimo's white clay may turn yellow! Therefore, it is better not to experiment with light shades.

To make the color of the leaves more realistic, you can lightly color from red or brown pastels.

After baking, insert the stem with a drop of glue on the end into the hole in the flower. Your beautiful poppy flowers are ready!
