One of the most universally kept secrets is people’s inherent desire for fame.

Whereas before fame was a gift of myth supplied mostly to those who committed courageous acts in war or human prgression, nowadays fame has been so widely parcelled out that it has its own spectrum of intensity.

You have those who are “A-listers” and those who are “Z-listers”. The former, as probably already figured out, are the crème de la crème of celebrity; the “Z-listers” are people like small niche YouTubers (if that!).

We all understand the pitfalls and traps of fame or the want for it. Despite this acknowledgement, the fame-seeking masses continue forward, hoping to piece together some clarity for their lives via the external acceptance of strangers.

I have rarely seen the direct mentality of a desire for fame explored. Granted, people often speak on the aforementioned pitfalls and traps of attaining fame, but not in the pursuit of fame, why people want it, what happens when people don’t get it, and what it says about the pursuers themselves.

The reality is that people who seek fame have been convinced that mass acceptance = their problems solved.
