Very few Americans know that in August and September 1918, as World War One was winding down, the United States deployed just over 8,000 military and medical forces to Siberia. Previously I explained through two videos, American Winter War in Russia, Part One in film, and Part Two in photos, how the U.S. deployed forces to western Russia, Archangel as World War One was winding down. But almost simultaneously, American expeditionary forces were also deployed to Siberia to conduct an operation with the Japanese and Czechoslovaks to clear the Ussuri-Amur Provinces of the Bolshevik bands running amok and lawless under the leadership of armed Austro-German prisoners of war.
As with my other videos, I will remain silent while I show official U.S. military film from the expedition, simultaneous with the U.S. military description of the film.
