Hi all, thanks so much for watching my first YouTube video!
In this video I am going food shopping on a budget! Over the next 5 weeks, I will be shopping in Irish grocery stores on a budget, using offers and money off vouchers (we don't have coupons here in Ireland) so I will try my best to get as much as I can for my money. At the end of the 5 weeks, I will compare to see which store I got the best quality items at the best price!
I will be shopping in Lidl, Aldi, Tesco, Dunnes Stores & SuperValu.
So over the next five weeks I am going to concentrate on reducing my grocery shopping costs– my expenses for food have gone up considerably over the last few weeks.
We are a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 kids and I try to base my food diary around simple family meals that would suit both adults and kids (so I’m not cooking two or three meals each evening!!) We have no food allergies and we eat a meat diet which I’m trying to reduce & make more vegetarian dishes.

More about me!
This is my first YouTube video so please bear with me!!
Hi, My name is Karen (or some people call me MOAD!) I am a Stay-at-Home Mum to 3 kids, 10 year old boy, 7 year old girl and 6 year old boy. They are all now in Primary School, so my little hobby of going around the shops with a buggy has now changed!! I find offers and bargains anywhere I go and share on my Instagram and Facebook pages called Mother of all Deals. I also have website https://www.motherofalldeals.ie/ where I put up blog posts and Daily Deals that I see online.
I am a shopaholic (save shopper!!) and I do like to cut back on my certain expenses especially on my grocery shopping!
Mother of all Deals Top Tips:
1) Before I go food shopping I always do up a food plan.
2) I look in the cupboards, fridge & freezer to check what I already have, so I’m not doubly buying. I base my meal plans on what I already have in the cupboards or in the freezer.
3) I check the grocery offers for Lidl, Aldi, Tesco, Dunnes Stores and SuperValu. I base my food plan on what the offers are available for the week.
Another tip in my weekly food plan is, I don’t make a different dish every single day. I would batch cook big meals and have it in the fridge for dinner the next day or for lunches. I might add more rice or pasta to the dish or just change a little bit but I generally would use leftovers quite often which also reduce my food costs
So over the next five weeks I’ll be looking at shopping my grocery shopping on a budget. This weeks shop was in Lidl Ireland because I liked the offers and next week, I’ll do another budget shop in one of the other grocery stores and see how much I will get for my money. At the end of the five weeks I’ll do a comparison and how well I got on, using offers and vouchers.
Hope you like it and please subscribe and follow along for more!
