If this Gartpot battery is unavailable then the Core-RC 4000mAh 7.4V 30/60C 2S LiPo CR293 looks to be the same and people are saying it fits in an old Tamiya.
If that's unavailable then I give up !
Anyway this started off as a review of the GARTPOT 2S 7.4V 4000mAh 50C Lipo battery and ended up as a rambling video about Tamiya RC battery sizes throughout the ages. Only the nerdiest of Tamiya nerds will make it to the end of this. If you can't be bothered then basically this should fit in most Tamiyas apart from the very old ones from the days of the hard case NiCd packs (Sand Scorcher etc.)
If you type - GARTPOT 2S 7.4V 4000mAh 50C Lipo Battery
into a search engine then you should find it.
I got mine from Amazon UK.
I haven't been sent it free or anything (chance would be a fine thing).
I spent £19.99 of my own hard earned British pounds on it.
So far so good with the Gartpot lipo but if I do experience any difficulty I'll add some comments.
Like I say in the video if you are new to Lipo then do read up about safety and also about only charging when you are just about to use them and leave them at storage voltage the rest of the time. Only use a charger specifically designed for Lipo. Charge in a Lipo safe bag or box away from anything flammable and be nearby while it charges. Check up about the number of amps to charge it at. A general rule is 1 amp per 1000mAh so I'm charging this at 4 amps and I always use a balance charge. Like I say do read up about it.
Many thanks for watching and well done if you managed to watch all of it. I dozed off half way through. I think it was the bit about the original Wild Willy and the hump backed battery zzzzzzzzzzz
