I’m enjoying a delicious bowl of Shizuoka-style oden, paired with soba and sakura ebi tempura, while talking about the rising costs of living in Japan.
I’ll share details about my monthly bills, taxes, and grocery prices, plus a sneak peek into how we manage our finances here.

I’ll also be making fresh orange juice with mikan (Japanese oranges) and preparing some simple Japanese side dishes for breakfast.
Then, I’ll cook one of my comfort foods—nilagang baboy, a Filipino soup dish that brings a taste of home.
