North Norfolk Railway - Spring Steam Gala - 06/03/15

Making my first visit to the North Norfolk Railway in over 14 years, I took a trip down on the train for their 2015 Spring Gala. I hadn't initially planned to go, as it's a bit of a trek from Swindon, but since I was already out on the train on the Saturday for 4965, and because each box on my BR Priv Card allows two consecutive days free travel, I thought "Why not!". As well as the line's superb home fleet, two guest locomotives were also included; Pannier Tank no.1501 from the Severn Valley Railway, and the Scottish rarity that is 62712 'Morayshire' from the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway, making for a very impressive line up! All working to a timetable of passenger and goods workings, including double headed and non-stop runs. My plan for the day would be to travel up to Weybourne, then walk up to Kelling Heath, stay there until 14:30, then walk the 5 miles back to Sheringham, filming along the way. Once I got back to Weybourne though (a mile from Kelling Heath) I was already feeling rather tired (having been up since 03:45), so decided to stay at Weybourne for a bit, then head back on the train to Sheringham.

A very enjoyable day, despite not getting as much variety as I'd hoped for locations-wise. At times it was also very windy, so I hope you'll forgive the shakes.
