In case you missed the PART 01 OF THIS VIDEO:
• TIPS ON HOW TO PACK AND LOAD A PODS PORTAB...
Hi folks! This is the second part of a job, in which we are packing a large household into 2 portable containers in Plantation, Florida.
If you missed the first part video, you will find the link to it below, in the comment section.
This container will be packed mostly with boxes, beds, some furniture and garage items.
We position bookshelf’s parts between the PODS metal beams. This will optimize space.
Next, we will bring in beds, boxes and miscellaneous items.
If you are doing your own container packing, try to do transversal walls. That is the best way to save space and the easiest way to maneuver with furniture inside of the portable container.
Note that most of the largest pieces are put on their smaller sides.
Try to use first the vertical space and then the horizontal space.
Try to box up all the items, as much as possible. Avoid using plastic bags, or your packing will be unstable, messy and you will end up losing a lot of space.
Try to use boxes for lamps, pictures and any item with an odd shape. You will be spending a little more money in supplies, but at the end your investment will pay off.
If you do not have your original TV boxes, make sure your TVs are well wrapped with cardboard and shrink wrap.
Place TV sets on the top row, but don't let them touch the ceiling of the container. The containers are stacked in the warehouse. There is always some compression that can crush items that are placed too close to the ceiling.
Keep using tie-down ratchet sets in layers. This will prevent your load to shift and avoid avalanches that can damage your items. If items fall towards the container rollup door, it will be a nightmare when you try to open it for the unloading process.
There are no places to hook tie-down ratchets near the container door. You need to plan and leave some tie-down ratchets when your packing reaches the last vertical beams.
I hope that my hints help. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments section.
