👉🌍Dr. Tarek Razek is a trauma surgeon, educator, and global health leader recognized for his contributions to trauma systems in Canada and surgical care worldwide.

Among his numerous roles and accomplishments, Dr. Razek served for many years as Chief of Trauma at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), where he oversaw the development of one of the country’s leading trauma programs. Under his leadership, the MUHC became a model for integrated trauma care, training, and research. He is a past President of the Trauma Association of Canada, past Board Chair of the Canadian Network for International Surgery, and a former member of the medical staff with the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club. He is a Co-Founder of Code Blue Advisors, a Canadian-based consulting firm that helps clients achieve and maintain world-class emergency and trauma care.

Dr. Razek’s expertise extends beyond Canada. He has worked extensively with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), delivering surgical care in conflict and disaster zones while also training local health professionals to strengthen long-term surgical capacity. His commitment to global surgery has helped expand access to safe surgical and trauma care in many countries.

As an educator, Dr. Razek has mentored generations of surgeons and medical professionals. He has played a pivotal role in advancing trauma education at McGill and internationally, contributing to curriculum development, simulation training, and leadership in surgical education. His work has been widely recognized for bridging clinical excellence with humanitarian commitment.
