On November 22nd, 2025, I went to the Colorado Railroad Museum and had the privilege to see the newly delivered locomotive: Denver & Rio Grande Western #315. This locomotive was delivered to the museum to participate in steam-up events as compensation for Rio Grande Southern #20 running excursions in Durango, Colorado, for the winter of 2025-2026. During my time at the museum, I got to see the locomotive go on the turntable to get her tender filled with coal and her ash grates cleaned. The locomotive then went back on the turntable to head out on the museum's loop to pull a test train of the Polar Express event's consist of 5 passenger cars. The train would then go around the loop about 5 times until coming to a stop, which is where I decided to end my day of capturing such a historic moment.
Around the 6:14 mark of the video, you may notice a slight change in light and quality. Unfortunately, the battery of my main video camera died, and I forgot a backup, so I had to film the rest of the train with my iPhone 13 in the 4k 24 fps mode.
