PT-15 PT Boat or HT2877B model remote control boat

The HT (Heng Tai) 2877A or 2877B is an 18.5 inch remote control model boat. More of a toy really but it does have some potential to be modelled. It is claimed it is 1/115th scale which would make it 177ft long. The real boat had 11,000hp from twin motors and went about 40 knots. It's a Japanese machine. I might re-model this toy to make it more accurate.

This model takes about an hour or two to charge using a mains adapter and I run it full speed for a good 10 minutes. As it lost power it went into a mode where the power was supplied in spurts which allows you to bring it home. It has no rudder. It is not digital proportional control. It just goes one speed forward, one speed reverse, and one turning circle left or right. It has a drain plug on the front deck section if it fills up with water inside. The battery bay is sealed.

I have also extended the battery wires and can just fit a 4xAA holder in there, so I can use other rechargeable (or regular) batteries. Mind you I also have a strong tape that I can use to pull it up and out of the tight fit. The strong tape goes under the battery holder.

The board at the stern goes on the other way up! Not sure why I didn't realise that at the time.
