How to change group privacy settings on Whatsapp
Changing group privacy settings can seem confusing at first, but it's actually quite simple.
Maybe you want to control who can join or manage what group members can do.
If you're ready, let’s get started!
1. Open WhatsApp on your mobile device.
2. Tap on the group you want to manage.
3. In the group chat, tap on the group name at the top.
4. Scroll down and select "Group Settings."
5. Choose "Edit Group Info" to control who can change the group name, icon, and description.
6. Select "Send Messages" to decide whether only admins or all members can send messages.
7. Tap "Edit Group Admins" to add or remove admins for better group management.
For overall privacy settings:
8. Go to WhatsApp settings by tapping the three dots in the top-right corner.
9. Select "Privacy" and then tap "Groups."
10. Choose who can add you to groups by selecting "Everyone," "My Contacts," or "My Contacts Except."
11. If you choose "My Contacts Except," select specific contacts to block them from adding you to groups.
12. Confirm your changes by tapping the checkmark at the bottom.
That’s it! With these steps, you can easily control group privacy and member permissions.
