Celebrating Cowels 🐄 with Funky Leggings Family at Croxteth Hall parkrun

One of the fabulous things about parkrun tourism is the friends you make along the way. We first met the Vidler family when we did Wyre Forest parkrun (   • Gruffalo Hunting at Wyre Forest parkrun To...  ) and at Northampton University parkrun Iona and Natalie bonded over watch straps and cake discussions!

So when Jim told us about his plans to run his 100th location at Croxteth Hall parkrun in Liverpool, we had to be there to celebrate with them, especially when Natalie promised Iona her new creation of mint tray bakes would be served!

Trains, buses and two feet whisked us to Liverpool and the Purple Palace the night before and Croxteth Hall parkrun. And wow, what a beautiful parkrun, the morning sun was filtering through the trees as we trotted round the trails and finished by the splendid Croxteth Hall.

Then breakfast at the Home Farm followed by Natalie's promised cakes (which were lush!), where we were entertained by chickens strutting their stuff across the floor and even a chicken dance on the table!

Back on the buses, but before catching the trains, we explored the docks in Liverpool and learnt a little of the history in the museum there, before refueling on doughnuts and heading back to Lime Street for London Northwestern to wing us home!
