Since Civil 3D represents a three dimensional design environment, the entities in a civil model can exist at multiple (or varying) elevations. Fortunately, Civil 3D makes it easy to take the orthogonal measurements necessary to validate a design. Today we will explore some workflows using the “Minimum Distance Between Entities”, and the “Minimum Vertical Distance Between Entities” commands.
