For 58 years, the Edelweiss Chairlift - colloquially known as Chair 2 - has been more than just a way up the mountain. From carrying skiers and riders into legendary terrain to serving as a critical tool for avalanche control and mountain operations, the old Riblet double has been the backbone of Alpental.
As Alpental turns the page with a new generation of lift infrastructure, we take a moment to recognize the era that shaped this place; honoring decades of service from the Riblet, the unique nature of the mountain, and the lifelong connections that grew strong for those who call it home.
Even as it’s replaced, Alpental remains defined by its terrain, its snow, and the people who show up for it.
