Commuter Trains at Stockholm Central station 2025 (The old route)

Filmed on October 31, 2025 at Stockholm Central, when the City Line was closed during evenings and nights due to work. As a result, SL's commuter trains ran the old route, stopping at Stockholm Central instead of Stockholm City. Although Karlberg station is ready to replace Odenplan if necessary, this was not done this weekend. The trains went directly from Sundbyberg/Solna via Stockholm Central to Älvsjö.

In the video you can see some of the commuter trains that operated at the central station during the evening. Several of the trains had Sundbyberg as their terminus, which was due to track work on the Mälarbanan that was carried out that same weekend.

It is not every day that the commuter is rerouted and there is this much traffic at this time of day at Stockholm Central. In the video you can more or less travel back in time and experience what a normal, late autumn evening could look like before 2017 when the commuter trains were moved. Now they usually run through the City Line, which is the tunnel that runs under central Stockholm. Imagine how much the central station has been relieved since then!
