On January 18, 31-year-old Akash Kanojia, a driver, was arrested by the Railway Protection Force at Durg station after a tip-off from the Mumbai police. He was taken into custody from the Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Kolkata Shalimar Jnaneshwari Express. In the footage from that day, Kanojia can be seen insisting, "I am innocent and I have been arrested by mistake," as he was detained.
