When you own the parts of yourself you’ve been hiding, shame loses its leverage. When your worth stops depending on approval, criticism can’t destabilize you. And when you’ve faced psychological death—disillusionment, ego collapse, confrontation with the unconscious—external threats become trivial. This is why it’s “dangerous”: not because it’s arrogant, but because it’s uncontrollable. It can’t be manipulated by validation, frightened by judgment, or coerced by social pressure. It’s not confidence as performance—it’s confidence as wholeness.
