This Is What America Is Missing - Chengdu Morning Market's meaty but, juicy chicken and more

America used to have places like this. Kind of. We had farmers markets!
Now we have Walmart.

Most people don’t realize what disappeared in the U.S. — real morning markets, farmers selling directly, small businesses cooking food that’s been made the same way for generations. Instead, we drive to big-box stores, fluorescent lights, shrink-wrapped food, and parking lots. we get sadness wrapped in plastic. That is what the sandwiches in the grocery stores are in the U.S.

In Chengdu, this still exists.

I walked through a local Chengdu morning market, not a tourist spot, not curated for foreigners. Just everyday people buying breakfast, cooking fresh food, chatting, arguing over prices, and going about their lives. This is how mornings feel here — loud, chaotic, alive. While i am trying to think of how to set up my "that's what she said jokes," people here were busy welcoming me and making sure i feel at home!

Here, you see where the food actually comes from.
You see how locals really eat.
You feel how different daily life is when everything isn’t centralized and corporate.
Why don't we have small businesses in the U.S anymore? What is that? explain it to me because i am confused! People want to work but the government doesn't want them to be successful. Our government helps out their friends ONLY, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates... that piece of sh...

Anyways, this video isn’t about “China vs America.”
It’s about what modern life quietly removed — and what still survives in places like Chengdu. Places that still bring joy to your heart just by walking through them. Places that help you connect with your community!
