Viboral Decoration is one of the most symbolic and meaningful designs in the ceramic tradition of El Carmen de Viboral, Colombia.
This educational documentary reveals the origins, colors, symbolism, and ancestral techniques behind the design, preserving a legacy that has been passed down for generations.
Through the voice and hands of our artisans, this video honors the memory of Cerámicas Continental—where the technique was born—and celebrates the artisans of Cerámicas El Dorado, who reinterpret the design while keeping its essence alive.
Each stroke represents the territory:
• Yellow – the sun and the gold that once shaped our mountains
• Brown/Ocher – devotion and tradition
• Green – the life of corn fields
• Blue – the water and sky of our region
Created as part of the Museum’s Documentary Series, this video is a tribute to the craft, to our artisans, and to the cultural identity of our town.
