This song is definitely a circle time favourite! We often start with bunnies, then the children will have ideas of what to be next. Depending on the day, I may choose the animals myself, or open it up to the children's suggestions.
I start this song down on the ground, pretending to sleep, then jump up when it's time to hop, fly, slither, or move however the animal of choice does!
Thanks to my friend and coworker, Annelis Wilson, who suggested singing "They're so chill" instead of the traditional "Are they ill?"
There are so many variations of this song; everyone who knows it seems to sing it slightly differently.
