A little tribute to a pub now long gone.
The Burnell Arms stood for many years in East Ham, London E6.
From 1981 to 1993 and then for a short period in 2001 was home to 50s RnR enjoyed vividly by RnR fans, both from, their native England and abroad.
Teddy Boys and RnR fans in London and beyond enjoyed music at The Black Raven from 1969 up to 1974-75, then was The Adam & Eve up to the late 70s and finally The Burnell Arms through the 80s,along with some more clubs around the London area.
I got a glimpse of what it was like back in 1989, absolutely jaw dropping to see original Teds gathering in this little gem.
I have not seen much written about this pub and how much it contributed to popular music apart from regulars on FaceBook.
I hope this can stir a few memories for you guys, it was a very special spot to me and I shall always treasure these moments.
It is dedicated to all of you, whether you were or you were not there at the time.
