Sonic R 100% Speed Run 1/2

Okay, I was thinking about doing an official speed run of this game for some time. One day (like 2-3 days ago) I run into this video that is an all Emerald speed run of this game. I was originally planning on doing 100%, so (in a way) I asked what the best route was to getting 100% as quickly as possible. And after 4 bad takes, that's what you'll see here!

==Reactive Factory [2:05.93]==
Started good by getting 50 rings before the jump and opening the CE Door. Landed in the water which cost about a half-second. Then got a speed boost from the Sonic Emblem when I didn't really want it before getting the first SC. Had an unusual slowdown in Lap 2 getting SC #2. Got the stupid speed boost again. Got the first CE after landing in the water again. I didn't have enough rings for the second CE Door, so I decided to go for the next 2 SC and carry on with the route. Got the second CE easily on Lap 3 and did good to the finish. Plenty of room for improvement, but I'll take this.

==vs. Metal Knuckles [01:23.50]==
Easy race. Missed the boost on Lap 1 after a very nice jump. Got it very nicely on Laps 2 and 3. Overall, a very good run.

==Regal Ruin [01:32.73]==
Switched to Metal Knuckles from here on out. First lap was pretty good. Got the first SC and a good amount of rings before Lap 2. Got the second SC and the 2 CE on the second lap, however the second CE gave me a little trouble which cost me about 5-6 seconds. Not very good IMO. Lap 3 was the tough part, getting the last 3 SC and winning the race. After all, Metal Knux is a little stiff; can never get through those two tight turns without bumping into the walls. Managed to win, thanks to the booster! Needs plenty of improvements, but overall a decent run.

==vs. Egg Robo [01:03.10]==
Bumped into him at the start, which slowed me down a little bit. Stayed ahead of him throughout the race and did pretty darn good. Overall, a good run.

==Radical City [01:55.06]==
Bumped into the door on Lap 1 which cost about a second. Got the first 3 SC and a lot of rings. Avoided the boost and the other door to save my rings for later (plus the fact that the CPU would opened that door anyways). On Lap 2 I went for the fourth SC before getting the first CE which saves a lot of time. Second CE was easy to get. Knuckles HAD to bump into me to slow me down (-_-). Took the boost to get ahead of him (which forced me to get the last SC on Lap 3, which I did). Dang border had to get in my way on Lap 3. A good run, but could use a little improvement.

==vs. Tails Doll [01:22.23]==
No dumb "curse" affected me! A very good run with no border troubles.

==Resort Island [01:14.83]==
Pulled off a fantastic move that I never did before on Lap 1, getting me the first SC without slowing me down. Lap 2 was good, even though I missed the third SC. I decided to go on with the route and get it on Lap 3. Didn't have enough rings for the CE door, so I saved that for Lap 3 as well. On Lap 3, the pressure was on! Got the last SC and the CE and just finished with Egg Robo close behind! A very nice run, with some improvements required.

==vs. Metal Sonic [00:55.03]==
Easy run. Kept taking the same route and beat Metal Sonic easily. All in all, a very good run.
