LIFT Daily Prayer: Trained for Battle | December 2, 2025

Today’s Verse: Psalm 144:1 (NKJV)
“Blessed be the Lord my Rock,
Who trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle.” 

We live in a world where violence, lawlessness, and spiritual darkness are increasing, just as Jesus said they would. God does not call His people to be careless, naive, or passive about evil. David could bless the Lord as his Rock while also acknowledging that God Himself trained his hands for war and his fingers for battle. For us, that means learning to stand our ground spiritually with the armor of God, and also taking seriously our responsibility to protect and provide for our homes, our families, and the vulnerable people God has entrusted to us. We are not to love violence or seek conflict, but we are to be awake, alert, and willing to step in when danger threatens.

So today, ask the Lord to be your Rock and to train you for the battles He has placed in front of you, both seen and unseen. Pray that He would make you a protector and provider in the fullest, biblical sense - guarding your home in prayer, in truth, and in practical wisdom.
