This detector was shipped to D-lab for repair. Symptom, Dead. Turns out to be the battery holster, bad contacts. Plus, some scratchy controls/switches. A little contact cleaner solved that issue. Whites made the best detectors in my opinion. The 5900 was a model overlooked for its performance. I love mine and would never part with it. I hope this info is of value to you. TD
