Critical Role Presents: A Daggerheart Critmas Story (Live Show – Sx89) | Reaction

This video is part of my Clueless to Critter–style journey, where I watch Critical Role content for the very first time and react as I go — confusion, excitement, and all.

In this reaction, I’m checking out Critical Role Presents: A Daggerheart Critmas Story, a live holiday special performed on December 7, 2024 and inspired by the iconic Campaign 2: Mighty Nein 90s intro (which I am currently obsessed with).

Story Summary

We start in the very normal, very awkward town of Springvale Springs, at a Christmas party in the Blake family’s home. Bored teens, questionable decisions, and one very creepy holiday box later… everything goes sideways. A magical Spirit of Holiday Cheer is unleashed, turning the teens into wild Christmas creatures and freezing the adults and the town in time.

Now stuck in a twisted, fairytale version of their neighborhood, the teens have to track down the runaway spirit through comic shops, arcades, and a forest-covered high school. Along the way they face some truly unsettling holiday folklore baddies like Hans Trapp, Straggele, and Perchta, and uncover the dark secret of the box: it runs on the tears and emotions of punished children (yikes).

With a lot of teamwork, big feelings, and some absolutely unhinged holiday chaos, they eventually manage to set things right — and end the night not with presents, but with beers in a secret treehouse.
