Every year, students at my school learn about a different aspect of Chinese music. This year, we are studying Chinese Opera, a fascinating way to tell Chinese folktales, legends, and history.

This lesson focuses on Sichuan Opera; it's just a snippet of what there is to learn about it.

At the end are two play-along videos. One is a notation play-along, and the other is a visual play-along. Both are in fast and slow tempi.

Grab classroom instruments and play along to either video to explore the sounds and style of Sichuan Opera!
