Make this Quick & Delicious Mutton Karahi at home — a perfect blend of tender meat, aromatic spices, and rich gravy bursting with authentic Pakistani flavor! 🍲🔥
Follow this easy step-by-step recipe to cook restaurant-style mutton karahi right in your kitchen.
Ingredients:
1.5 kg Mutton
1 & ½ cup Oil
3 tbsp Garlic (crushed/paste)
5 Green chilies (crushed)
6 big Tomatoes (blended/paste)
1 & ½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Chili flakes
1 tsp Kasuri methi
1 tsp Black pepper powder
½ cup Yogurt
3 tbsp Ghee or Butter
Julienne Ginger, Fresh Coriander, Green Chilies (for garnish)
Method:
1. Pressure cook 1.5 kg mutton with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp coriander seeds (or powder), 1 tsp chili flakes, 8–10 garlic cloves, and water as required. Cook until the meat is soft (according to your cooker).
2. Transfer the mutton into a karahi and dry up any excess water.
3. Add 1 & ½ cup oil, 2 tbsp garlic paste, and 2–3 crushed green chilies. Fry for 5 minutes.
4. Add ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp chili flakes, and 6 blended tomatoes. Mix well, cover, and cook for a few minutes.
5. Add ½ cup yogurt, stir for 1 minute, then add 1 tsp black pepper powder and 1 tsp kasuri methi. Cook until oil separates from the gravy.
6. Garnish with julienne ginger, fresh coriander, and green chilies.
7. For smoky flavor, heat charcoal, place it in karahi, drop some oil on it, cover immediately for a few minutes, then remove.
